Municipal Districts

Cork County Council has received almost €100,000 in funding to progress two Town Centre First Projects in Kinsale and Ladysbridge in County Cork. The projects are among 53 announced by the Minister for Rural and Community Development, Heather Humphries TD. 

UPDATE 22/08/2024: The Barleycove pontoon has now reopened.

Due to adverse weather conditions the Barleycove pontoon will be closed from 4pm this afternoon. The situation will be kept under review and the pontoon will be reopened when conditions allow and following an inspection.

High Tide Advisory

UPDATE 15/08/24: The Advisory Notice (Do Not Swim) has been lifted.

Due to high levels of bacteria in the bathing water, in the interest of public health, an Advisory Notice (Not to Swim) has been issued for Owenahincha Beach, in consultation with the HSE. Further microbiological tests are being carried out today and in the coming days.

Due to recent localised storm conditions, in the interest of public health, a precautionary Advisory Notice (Not to Swim) has been issued for the Warren Beach, in consultation with the HSE. Microbiological tests are being carried out today and in the coming days.

After a hugely successful exhibition in August 2022 and 2023, Cork County Council in partnership with the National Archives brings the Michael Collins Diaries 1918-1922 back to Michael Collins House Museum, Clonakilty for August 2024.

A new accessible chair has been added at West Cork Leisure Centre – Dunmanway.  Purchased by Cork County Council, the chair will provide easier access to the hydrotherapy pool for users with additional needs.

To facilitate regular maintenance, Dursey Island Cable Car will be closed from 9:30 to 16:00 this Thursday, the 11th of July.
