Cork County Council’s Severe Weather Assessment Team convened this afternoon ahead of a Met Éireann Status Orange Rain and Snow warning for Cork.  The Status Orange warning will be in effect from 5.00pm this evening until 5.00pm tomorrow Sunday, January 5th. A Status Yellow Rain and Snow warning is now in place. 

Cork County Council is urging all road users to take extreme care on the roads ahead of a Met Éireann Status Orange Rain and Snow warning for Cork. 

The Orange warning comes into effect at 5.00pm tomorrow (Saturday, January 4th) and will remain in place until 5.00pm on Sunday.

A Status Yellow Wind warning remains in place for Cork until 3.00pm this afternoon. Storm Darragh has brought very strong and gusty winds overnight and this morning. Cork County Council crews were out throughout the night and additional crews were mobilised this morning. The Council received more than 100 reports of fallen trees and debris. North and East Cork were particularly impacted however reports were received from across the county.

The warning comes into effect at 8:00pm tonight (Friday, 6th December) and will remain in place until 10.00am tomorrow morning. A Status Yellow Wind Warning will be in place for Cork from 3.00pm this afternoon to 3.00pm on tomorrow afternoon.
