Carrigaline Library Exterior

Opening Hours

Carrigaline Library offers a wide range of books for lending to adults and children, including books on tape and CDs. A selection of general reference books is also held, such as encyclopaedias and dictionaries. The library also stocks a collection of DVDs for adults and children.

The newspapers and magazines available for viewing in the library are as follows: the Irish Examiner, the Irish Times, the Southern Star, Carrigdhoun, Hello, Woman's Way and Phoenix. 

Public toilet available.

Internet Access

Internet access is available on public computers. Advance booking for this service is advisable. Wi-Fi is also available to members.

Remote Printing 

You can now print remotely to the printer in Carrigaline library. You can print from your tablet or smartphone, from your home computer or laptop. Then collect your prints at the self-service printing kiosk at the library by the close of business the following day.

Photocopying

Photocopying is available in Black and White and Colour.

  • A4 black and white - €0.15 per page. 
  • A4 colour - €0.60 per page.
  • A3 black and white - €0.30 per page.
  • A3 colour - €1.20 per page.

Events

A gramophone recital is held on the third Thursday of every month at 11am

An adult book club is held on the first Wednesday of every month at 11am.

A second adult book club is held on the second Thursday of every month at 11am.

A children’s book club is held on the first Thursday of every month at 4.15pm.

A creative writing group meets on the third Wednesday of every month at 10.30am.

A knitting group meets every Tuesday at 2.30pm.

Smartphone course for beginners starting in January 2025.

Visual art exhibitions are held from time to time. Please contact the library for details.

Various other activities are held throughout the year. 

Directions

Directions to the Library: From Cork take the N28 and stay on it until the Shannonpark Roundabout. Drive straight through this roundabout and also through the next two roundabouts. On arriving at the church drive straight on to the Main Street, passing the A.I.B Bank and SuperValu on the right. Take the next left turn, and the library is a large white building on the right-hand side, past the Gaelic Bar. The car park and entrance are shared with Dunnes Stores.
