Library and Arts Service are seeking a contractor to deliver Cork County Culture Night Marketing and Communications

Request for quotation for Marketing Co-Ordination services.

The 19th edition of Culture Night will take place on Friday 20th, September 2024.

Culture Night / Oíche Chultúir is a national moment, celebrating all that makes up the richness and diversity of culture in Ireland today, connecting people to cultural activities locally and nationally and aims to open up pathways to ongoing creative engagement. Culture Night is an all Ireland event directed by the Arts Council and delivered with the support of all local authority arts offices.

Cork County Council Library and Arts Service wishes to appoint an experienced marketing coordinator to lead the promotion of the Cork County Culture Night Programme 2024. The Cork County Culture Night Marketing and Communications role will operate as a contract for services between the contractor and Cork County Council Arts Office. The Project will commence from June 3rd 2024 and will extend no later than October 4th 2024. Work on this project will require flexibility and availability outside normal working hours.

Responsibilities:

  • develop and manage a communications programme for Culture Night events, on both traditional and social medias, and support the creation of the requisite press materials and photographic documentation
  • be able to create and implement a successful marketing and branding strategy that will enhance the visibility of Culture Night in participating towns and also link with the national Culture Night promotions team
  • ensure that the Cork County Culture Night programme is promoted in line with all requirements as set out by the Arts Council and Cork County Council
  • promote each hub town’s Culture Night programme. These towns are: Baile Mhuirne, Bandon, Bantry, Carrigaline, Charleville, Clonakilty, Cobh, Fermoy, Kinsale, Macroom, Mallow, Midleton, Mitchelstown, Passage West, Skibbereen, Watergrasshill, and Youghal
  • ensure that Culture Night events taking place outside the Hub towns are promoted
    Work with each town to create opportunities to maximise the awareness and visibility of Culture Night locally
  • provide support and guidelines to all Culture Night participating groups required to prepare information to populate local and national Culture Night websites and social media platforms
  • manage programme content for the County Culture Night Website and the national website
  • liaise with programme coordinator, designers and printers to deliver promotional material.
    Support the evaluation of Culture Night. 
     

Person Specification:

  • The role requires a versatile, experienced self-starter. It is essential for the applicant to have:
    • experience as a marketing or communications professional, promoting arts and culture events
    • experience managing various stakeholders
    • social media expertise
    • website CMS experience
    • an eye for detail.


Remuneration

The total budget for the contract will not exceed €7,000 inclusive of VAT and any other expenses incurred in connection with the delivery of services.
