The Cork Age Friendly County Programme is led by the Cork County Age Friendly Alliance, chaired by Mr Niall Healy, Director of Services, Cork County Council. The Alliance brings together senior leaders from the Gardaí, HSE, transport providers, voluntary organisations, third level institutions, individual leaders and members of Cork County Older People’s Council. All of these stakeholders share the vision of improving the quality of life for older people in County Cork.

In the current COVID-19 emergency, many of the stakeholders represented on the Age Friendly Alliance, have partnered with Cork County Council as part of the Council’s COVID-19 Community Support Programme.
Under this programme Cork County Council is working with a range of statutory and voluntary organisations to ensure that the needs of older people and more vulnerable people are met across the towns, villages and communities of County Cork during this COVID-19 crisis.
