A total of 122 candidates have been officially nominated to stand in the upcoming elections for Cork County Council. 

Polling takes place on Friday, June 7th and there are 10 electoral areas in County Cork with 55 Members set to be elected. 

1. A poll for the election of members for the following local electoral areas will be taken on Friday, 7th June 2024, between the hours of 7.00 a.m. and 10.00 p.m.. 
2. The following are particulars of the candidates, whose names will appear on the ballot papers in the order shown:-

Cork County Council marked its milestone 125th anniversary with a day of commemoration starting with a Special Meeting of Council where the echoes of history were highlighted as the 1899-minute book was proudly displayed. 

As a mark of respect for our esteemed colleague, the late Councillor Gerard Murphy, the Newmarket Office will remain closed on Friday, April 19th and will reopen on Monday April 22nd. 
 

It is with great sadness that we make this statement on the passing of Councillor Gerard Murphy RIP.  Cllr Murphy was one of the longest serving public representatives in Cork County Council and a lifelong community activist, most notably in his hometown of Newmarket.

Cork County Council’s Severe Weather Assessment Team convened today following the issuing of a Met Éireann Status Orange Wind Warning for Cork.  The warning is in effect from 7.00am to 5.00pm Saturday April 6th.  Storm Kathleen is expected to bring gale force southerly winds, with some severe and damaging gusts.
