Cork County Council Announces Affordable Homes in Macroom

Cork County Council has announced a new Affordable Housing Purchase Scheme in Macroom. Applications for the new two and three bed houses at Meadowlands, Macroom will open at 12 noon on Monday the 30th of September 2024.

Communities around Cork County are gearing up for an exciting Culture Night 2024, with over 120 free events taking place in their localities on Friday 20th September. From Abba in ancient castles, to DJs beside the sea and music and dancing in the streets, this year’s programme promises to be one of the most exciting yet.

Cork County Council Celebrates Sustainable Development Goals Week with Workshops on Sustainable Heritage

Cork County Council presents a series of workshops focusing on the theme of Sustainable Heritage called ‘The Green Time Machine: What can the past teach us about a sustainable future? These engaging sessions, led by Creative Ireland Heritage Specialist in Residence Shannon Forde, will be held at Cobh, Skibbereen and Kinsale libraries during Sustainable Development Goals Week.

Nestled in the South West of Ireland between Ireland’s Ancient East and the Wild Atlantic Way, Ireland’s Hidden Heartlands, Cork is Ireland’s largest county. Known as ‘Ireland’s Maritime Haven’, Cork has over 1,000km of coastline and the world’s second largest natural harbour.
