Cork County Council has prepared a Section 11(4) Chief Executive’s Report 28th August 2020 summarising the submissions (received during the pre draft public consultation period) and sets out his opinion/recommendations on policies to be included in the Draft County Development Plan for the County Council Elected Members for their consideration. This report is available for inspection and download at Corkcoco.ie.

 

When is the Next Opportunity to make a submission to the CDP Review Process?

A Draft County Development Plan will be published on the 22nd April 2021 and made available for public consultation from that date until Thursday 1st July 2021 (10 weeks) at which stage further submissions can be made on the Draft Plan.

 

What is the Cork County Development Plan Review ?

Cork County Council has commenced the preparation of a new County Development Plan for the period 2022-2028 in accordance with the steps set out in the Planning and Development Acts. The purpose of the Development Plan is to guide the future development of the county.

The first step is the preparation of a Public Consultation Document (including Background Documents) which highlights the key issues that need to be considered. This document was on public display from Thursday the 12th of March until 12 midnight on Thursday the 2nd of July, 2020 inclusive and can be viewed above.

This Pre Draft Public Consultation Period has now ended.

Cork County Council has prepared a Section 11(4) Chief Executive’s Report 28th August 2020 summarising the submissions (received during the Pre-Draft Public Consultation period) and sets out his opinion/recommendations on policies to be included in the Draft County Development Plan for the County Council Elected Members on 28th August 2020 for their consideration.  This report is available for inspection and download at Corkcoco.ie.  

A Draft County Development Plan is then prepared and made available for public consultation (at which stage further submissions can be made).

 

Where can I view the published Cork County Development Plan Review Public Consultation Documents?

A copy of all published documents including (the Public Consultation Document and Background Documents) and Section 11(4) Chief Executive's Report relating to the Cork County Development Plan Review to date may be inspected each working day, exclusive of public holidays, between the hours of 9.00 a.m. and 4.00 p.m. at the following locations:

1. Planning Department, Floor 1, County Hall, Cork.

2. Planning Department, Norton House, Skibbereen, Co. Cork.

3. Cork County Council Divisional Office, Annabella, Mallow.

4. County Library and Branch Libraries – Please check at your local library regarding opening times, internet access and availability of PCs for accessing electronic format.

5. Online at Corkcoco.ie at all times.

All accompanying background documents relating to the Cork County Development Plan Review and the preparation of a new Cork County Development Plan 2022-2028 are also available online at Corkcoco.ie at all times.

Will my submission be published on the Cork County Council Website?

Yes. Please note that in accordance with Section 19 of the Planning and Development (Amendment) Act, 2018 all valid submissions received by the Council shall, be published on the Cork County Council website within 10 working days of its receipt by the Council.  The planning process is an open and public process and therefore your submission (in part or in total) will be available to view online at Yourcouncil.ie.

We are currently at Stage One, Pre Draft Plan stage with the publication of a Public Consultation Document and  background documents in March 2020 (listed below) and the publication of the Section 11(4) Chief Executive’s Report on 28th August 2020 : The Section 11(4) Chief Executive’s Report summarises the submissions received during the pre draft public consultation period and sets out his opinion/recommendations on policies to be included in the Draft County Development Plan for the County Council Elected Members for their consideration.
