The ‘Together at the Lodge’ mental health and wellbeing event at Midleton Lodge Park that was due to take place this weekend has been postponed until Sunday, the 6th of October 2024, due to the adverse weather forecast. 

Cork County Council will be opening Books of Condolence in memory of former Fine Gael Councillor Tadgh O’Donovan Trá at Cork County Hall and Skibbereen Library. 

Cork County Council and Cork Kerry Community Healthcare has officially launched the second annual ‘Together at the Lodge’ mental health and wellbeing event at Midleton Lodge Park.

Cork GAA, one of the largest sporting organisations in Ireland, is proud to announce a significant voluntary clean up initiative spearheaded by its clubs and their dedicated members. 

Minister for Rural and Community Development, Heather Humphreys and Minister of State, Joe O’Brien have announced a further €50 million in funding under the Community Recognition Fund 2024. Cork County Council will receive an allocation of €2,014,691 under the fund.

Mayor of the County of Cork, Cllr. Joe Carroll joined the Cork City Sports Committee to host the launch of the 70th Cork City Sports International Athletics Meet 2024. One of the premier events on Ireland’s athletics calendar, Cork City Sports will take place at Munster Technological University Stadium, Bishopstown on Tuesday the 9th of July.

Cork County Council has launched its Irish Language Events and Initiatives Grant Scheme for 2024. This is the second year of this scheme, which was initially launched in 2023, when 11 recipients from all parts of the county were successful in receiving funding.

Cork County Council has been granted more than €2 million in funding to revitalise the town centres of Skibbereen and Clonakilty.

Representatives from a range of local community and business groups attended an information evening to mark the first steps towards a Town Centre Regeneration Plan for Kanturk. The inaugural event offered over 40 community stakeholders in attendance the opportunity to meet with staff from Cork County Council’s Town Regeneration Office and to find out how to get involved.

The countdown to summer is on, and Cork is buzzing with preparations for one of its greatest traditions, the Cork Summer Show. The Mayor of County Cork, Cllr Frank O’Flynn was guest of honour at the official launch of a preview of this year’s event, which took place at the historic Camden Fort Meager in Crosshaven.
