Cork County Culture Night Reaches 28 Towns and an Island with 251 Events

Cork County came alive with the vibrant colours of culture and creativity in celebration of this year's Culture Night on Friday 22nd September. Arts organisations, community groups and enthusiastic members of the public came together to enjoy a staggering 251 inclusive and diverse cultural events throughout the county.

Status Orange Rainfall Warning for Cork 

A Met Éireann Status Orange Rain warning for Cork comes into effect tomorrow morning (Wednesday) from 9.00am until 3.00pm with spells of heavy and occasionally intense rain, combined with very strong and gusty winds forecasted. Two Met Éireann Status Yellow Weather Warnings for Wind and Rain will also be in effect from 7am until midnight.

The winning design will feature on our new adult membership cards. The successful entrant will also receive a €150 voucher. There will also be 2 runner-up prizes of €25.

Works at Fermoy’s Barnane Walk and Trail Completed

Mayor of the County of Cork, Cllr. Frank O’Flynn has visited Barnane Walk and Trail following significant improvement works to the popular amenity in Fermoy.

The trail, which forms part of the idyllic Blackwater Way, has benefited from a series of upgrades, including pathway improvements, fencing, landscaping and the installation of new steel pedestrian bridges to help ensure safe and convenient crossing.

Cork County Council recently welcomed 150 community volunteers to Cork County Hall to celebrate the return of the Council’s Anti-Litter Challenge. 22 towns and 64 villages entered this year’s competition which acknowledges and supports the efforts of local groups and volunteers in the fight against litter.
