Cork County came alive with the vibrant colours of culture and creativity in celebration of this year's Culture Night on Friday 22nd September. Arts organisations, community groups and enthusiastic members of the public came together to enjoy a staggering 251 inclusive and diverse cultural events throughout the county.

Cork County Council is pleased to welcome a new Affordable Housing Purchase Scheme with applications for new two-bed townhouses and three-bed houses at Cluain Ard, Cobh opening on Monday October 2nd 2023 at 12 noon.

A Met Éireann Status Orange Rain warning for Cork comes into effect tomorrow morning (Wednesday) from 9.00am until 3.00pm with spells of heavy and occasionally intense rain, combined with very strong and gusty winds forecasted. Two Met Éireann Status Yellow Weather Warnings for Wind and Rain will also be in effect from 7am until midnight.   

Under Section 70 of the Roads Act 1993,  landowners and occupiers of land are obliged to take all reasonable care to ensure that trees, ditches, hedges and other vegetation growing on their land are not or could not become a danger to people using or working on a public road or public footpath.

A new green drainage system designed to capture and purify rainwater run-off from roads and footpaths has been unveiled at East Beach in Cobh by the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage and Cork County Council.

To celebrate Cork County Cuts Carbon – Make One Change month this November, Cork County Council Library & Arts Service would like to invite you to design a library card that celebrates sustainability. The winning design will feature on our new adult membership cards. The successful entrant will also receive a €150 voucher. There will also be 2 runner-up prizes of €25.

Mayor of the County of Cork, Cllr. Frank O’Flynn has visited Barnane Walk and Trail following significant improvement works to the popular amenity in Fermoy.

The trail, which forms part of the idyllic Blackwater Way, has benefited from a series of upgrades, including pathway improvements, fencing, landscaping and the installation of new steel pedestrian bridges to help ensure safe and convenient crossing.

Cork County Council recently welcomed 150 community volunteers to Cork County Hall to celebrate the return of the Council’s Anti-Litter Challenge. 22 towns and 64 villages entered this year’s competition which acknowledges and supports the efforts of local groups and volunteers in the fight against litter.

This autumn, Cork County Council proudly presents an enchanting series of concerts that will light up the hearts of residents in healthcare settings across the county. Under the banner of the "Creativity in Older Age" scheme, generously supported by Creative Ireland, these musical performances will spread warmth and joy across nine different healthcare locations in County Cork.
