Cork County Council Joins Your Council Day on Friday, July 5th

Your Council Day, the national event to highlight, promote and celebrate local government, will this year take place on Friday the 5th of July.  Cork County Council will be joining local authorities across the country to mark the day and promote our role in Irish Life.

122 Candidates to Contest Local Elections in County Cork

A total of 122 candidates have been officially nominated to stand in the upcoming elections for Cork County Council. 

Polling takes place on Friday, June 7th and there are 10 electoral areas in County Cork with 55 Members set to be elected.

Statement from Cork County Council on passing of Cllr Gerard Murphy RIP

It is with great sadness that we make this statement on the passing of Councillor Gerard Murphy RIP.  Cllr Murphy was one of the longest serving public representatives in Cork County Council and a lifelong community activist, most notably in his hometown of Newmarket.

Met Eireann Status Orange - Wind Warning Storm Kathleen

Cork County Council’s Severe Weather Assessment Team convened today following the issuing of a Met Éireann Status Orange Wind Warning for Cork.  The warning is in effect from 7.00am to 5.00pm Saturday April 6th.  Storm Kathleen is expected to bring gale force southerly winds, with some severe and damaging gusts.
