Cork County Council is seeking public engagement on the first stage of a new Climate Action Plan for the county.

Seven important archaeological conservation projects in Cork County are set to receive over €430,000 from the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage under the 2023 Community Monuments Fund.

Mayor of the County of Cork, Cllr Danny Collins has officially opened a new playground in Ballinhassig. The nature-inspired playground incorporates natural play spaces that are designed to adapt to their setting. Located in the heart of the village on a 2-acre community park, the project was managed by Cork County Council with input from Ballinhassig Village Association.

An investment of €556,654 has been announced for Cork County under the Built Heritage Investment Scheme (BHIS) and Historic Structures Fund (HSF), two heritage funding schemes run by the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage, in association with the country’s 31 Local Authorities.

Cork County Council’s Library and Arts Service at Youghal Library has received a wonderful gift of 330 books in the Ukrainian language, generously donated by people in Kyiv, Ukraine and Bratislava in Slovakia. The collection includes a mix of adult books and children’s books, many of which are popular favourites.
